Mothersong

Come and sing with us on Tuesday mornings 10.30 am-11.30 am in Wood Farm, and Friday mornings 10.30-11.30 am in Barton Park. Sign up for exact location and dates. These sessions are open to women of all ages and stages. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers welcome.

In Mothersong we gather as mothers, grandmothers, aunties, friends and sisters to improve wellbeing through singing. We sing to build community, boost our mood and bond with our kids. Research shows the remarkable benefits that group singing has on both physical and mental health.

We sing Folk and Pop Songs from around the world. We like to keep things simple and sing by ear with lots of repetition - so there’s no need for sheet music or backing tracks.

This group is for you whether you have sung before or not. The sessions are tailored for all, from new to accomplished singers. We focus on involvement rather than achieving a perfect sound and it is definitely not about performance! Come as you are.

All sessions are lead by songwriter and musician Hannah Fredsgaard-Jones. Hannah has years of experience leading creative music workshops in the community. She has specialised in Perinatal Singing Practices through the Singing Mamas Community Leader Training Program.

Mothersong is delivered in partnership with St. Mary's Church, Barton, Bullingdon Community Association and Barton Park Primary School. The sessions are supported by Oxford Community Insight Profile Grant Funding, the Oxfordshire Councillor Priority Fund and the Well Together Fund.

Well Together is delivered in partnership by OCVA and Community First and funded by the NHS BOB Integrated Care Board.
